July
Well, my gardens are doing great! I harvested some peas and 2 cucumbers so far.
My hot peppers are flowering and I even have some that are growing peppers.
I have 1 ear of corn growing so far. I only planted 4 corn seeds. I think I have a few that decided to grow outside the garden path. They are rebels!
I think I have 2 male zucchini plants growing. They keep getting flowers and falling off but no fruit is growing. * sigh* Also my cantaloupes keep getting flowers but I don't see any fruit from them either.
End of June
An update on my gardens.
We had quite the storm last Tuesday. The wind gusts blew tree limbs off and missed my veggie garden by a few inches. The wind had flatten some of my flowers in my flower garden. I only lost a few flowers. And it has been hot and humid!
But things are looking up. My pea plants now have pods. The tomatoes and hot peppers have flower buds. The cucumbers, zucchini and cantaloupes are growing like crazy.
Hope's Blog - June
June sure has been a wet month! It seems to have rained every other day since Memorial Day.
I finally got to plant my gardens Memorial Day weekend. I decided to do Companion Planting and have a small garden of 12 ft. by 12 ft. My husband made me 3 plots to plant in. He put up a garden gate and a rabbit guard fence to go around it.
In the back plot, I planted Marigolds, Zucchini, Lovage ( but I don't think it's growing) Cucumbers, Cantelopes and Nastriums.
In the other plot , I planted Peas, Corn, Green Beans, Sage, Carrots, Radishes, Broccoli, onions and rosemary.
